How it works - the free iPod story
To put it simply, this is a new method of marketing. It follows a simple referral scheme structure and encourages people to view a particular company’s offer in exchange for an ipod touch. The best part is, taking part in the offers doesn’t mean you have to buy anything, there are a variety of completely free trials available. If you take part in a free trial, you become a 'potential' customer for the company. They place a high value on people viewing their products and services and are banking that on average 1 in every 100 people that sign up for a free trial, will become a full time customer. This is an example of how it works, step-by-step 1. person completes a free trial for a company 2. the company must pay a set fee every time somebody signs up via the reward site (the site that offers free items) 3. person wants an ipod touch, which costs £229.00 4. person needs to get 13 referrals or friends to sign up 5. company pays the reward site a set amount as person has got 13 friends to sign up via their link 6. reward site orders person their ipod touch 7. remaining money becomes reward sites profit to put it simply - what this means is * the reward site is happy because they have made a profit * the company is happy because they have had exposure to new potential customers * your happy because you have a an ipod touch free That means, everybodys happy! |
