3 Things people want with the new iPhone 3G
As Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference rolls closer we prepare to get a glimpse of Apple’s new iteration of Jesus Phone. In his infinite wisdom, Jobs may have left out a few key features for which we shall now petition the Lord with prayer. Here are three features we’d like to see in the next free 3G iPhone 2.0. The hottest free 3G iPhone 2.0 2 rumors have the new version thinner with a longer battery life, double the storage and sporting built-in GPS. All nice additions to be sure but there are few other longstanding quibbles with the free 3G iPhone 2.0 that should also be addressed. 1/ User-Replaceable Batteries: It’s sacrilege to even speak of it in an Apple product. How else can the Apple gang maintain your product’s umbilical cord to Uncle Stevie. No user replicable battery with a ready supply of new batteries means a disposable product. Unless of course you repack it to send to Apple’s haloed ground to be born-again with a brand new battery. The in-factory battery replacement of course costs way, way more than it should. 2/ Memory Card Slot: Apple’s spiritual brethren Sony also employs exclusionary tactics. I am the one, the only; might be the mantra of both companies. Sony likes to create new formats to compete with industry accepted ones like that annoying, overpriced Memory Stick. But at least Mem-Stick is user replaceable and upgradeable. Apple still preaches from the Old Testament of static storage, the free 3G iPhone 2.0’s memory is not to be touched nor upgraded by the user. Here’s a suggestion - it’s called SD Memory! It’s cheap and ever-available in larger capacities. But to add your own memory would be sin, missing the point of Apple’s hierarchical orthodoxy of ascending product line by capacity. 3/ Stereo Bluetooth: This is the one prayer the Apple Gods may deign to answer when the free 3G iPhone 2.0 2 is presented. Bluetooth is a great feature for hands-free phone calls and music listening. But the Bluetooth headset, formerly a geek’s foray into wearable computing, has oddly been co-opted by the executive power-lunch crowd. But it’s us geeks that see blue-light of stereo. We realize Apple packs its free 3G iPhone 2.0s with high-quality Wolfson WM8758 DACs for digital audio quality that surpasses many CD and DVD players. Bluetooth stereo headphones are a Godsend! But your free 3G iPhone 2.0’s Bluetooth is mono-only, not intended for music-listening. It’s only relevant to the Godless Philistines who get-off on voice activated auto-dialing while cutting you off at next exit ramp - because they have important business and a 6 cylinder BMW. There you have our prayers for the free 3G iPhone 2.0 2 brothers and sisters. They may not all be answered but at least Apple will know that 3G speeds aren’t everything. |
